No one seems to know where in County Kilkenny, Ireland, Dennis
Buggy was born. Some sources give
his birth year as 1830, some as 1833.
My goal is to:
1 Discover Dennis Buggy’s birthdate and birthplace,
2 Demonstrate a “reasonably exhaustive search” and explain the research process as I go,
3 Record my research and findings, and
4 Explore the use of a blog as a research report.
Each post will treat a specific type of research aimed at discovering Dennis Buggy's birthdate and birthplace, beginning
with compiled genealogies and online databases. Depending on the findings, research will move on to newspapers,
censuses, and the whole range of records available to researchers and the
interested general public. U.S. records about Dennis Buggy will be a starting point. Hopefully they will provide a springboard to Irish records.
